D-Link WBR-1310 Quick Router Setup — Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these concise steps to get your D-Link WBR-1310 online and secure in under 15 minutes.
What you’ll need
- D-Link WBR-1310 router, power adapter, Ethernet cable
- Active modem (cable/DSL) and its Ethernet cable
- A laptop or PC (preferably wired to the router during setup)
1. Physical connections
- Power off your modem.
- Connect the modem’s Ethernet cable to the router’s WAN/Internet port.
- Connect your computer to any LAN port on the router with an Ethernet cable (recommended).
- Power on the modem, wait until it’s fully up, then power on the router.
- Verify router LEDs: Power, WAN, and the LAN port in use should light.
2. Access the router web interface
- Open a browser on the connected PC and go to: http://192.168.0.1 or http://dlinkrouter.local
- At the login prompt enter the default credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: (leave blank)
If these don’t work, perform a factory reset (press and hold Reset ~10–15s) and try again.
3. Run the Setup Wizard (recommended)
- After login, click the Setup Wizard or Setup → Launch Internet Connection Setup Wizard.
- Create a new router admin password when prompted — choose a strong password and save it.
- Select your time zone and click Next.
- Choose your Internet connection type (common options):
- Dynamic IP (Cable) — usually “Automatic/DHCP”
- PPPoE (DSL) — enter ISP username and password
- Static IP — enter values provided by ISP
- Enter DNS settings if your ISP provided them (otherwise leave automatic).
- Click Connect/Save. Wait for the router to apply settings and reboot if needed.
